Tajmahal simble of LoveAgra is a city on the banks of the Yamuna River in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It finds mention in the epic Mahabharata when it was called Agrabana, or Paradise. It has an average elevation of 171 meters (561 ft). Agra is the one of the prominent destinations of the World Tourism map with three heritage monuments -The Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri & Red Fort. These monuments were built in the contemporary Mughal style. Mughlai cuisine and the skilled craftsmen Badal Singh founded the city in 1475.
Sikandar Lodhi made Agra his capital city. Later, Babur defeated the Lodhis to capture the city situated on the banks of River Yamuna and thus, the long association of Mughals with Agra startedIt achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658. Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. On the north it is bounded by Mathura, on the south by Dhaulpur, on the east by Firozabad, on the south-east by Fatehabad and on the west by Bharatpur.
It is one of the biggest cities of uttar Pradesh. Hot summers from April to September. The monsoon months from July to September see about 67 cm of rainfall annually. Winters last from November to February.
